Toccoa is home to a highly-regarded public school system, Toccoa Falls College and North Georgia Technical College offering local and area residents a wide range of educational opportunities.
Stephens County Public Schools
The Stephens County School System serves more than 4,000 students in four elementary schools, one middle school, one comprehensive high school and one alternative school. Two elementary schools, the middle school and the high school are located here in Toccoa.
Stephens County High School has been honored as a National School of Excellence and all schools are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
System-wide the curriculum includes everything from increased emphasis on math and science to extracurricular leadership opportunities; from computer instruction to modern literature and more.
Stephens County High School, first accredited in 1932, merged with Toccoa High School in 1971 and moved into the existing THS building. The board of education completed a new $43 million high school campus in 2012.
The high school offers Pre-AP and AP classes in all four academic areas and has an outstanding Career, Technical and Agriculture Educational Center. CTAE offers classes in automotives, business, construction, cosmotology, drafting, graphic arts, nursing, video editing and welding.

Toccoa Falls College
Toccoa Falls College is an accredited four-year liberal arts Christian college that offers 25 majors, 38 minors, one on line degree completion major, and an Associate in General Studies (A.A.) in three schools: The School of Arts and Sciences, which includes the departments of Communication, Counseling, and Humanities and Natural Sciences; The School of Christian Ministries which includes the departments of Bible and Theology, Christian Education, and World Missions departments; and The School of Professional Studies, which includes the departments of Business Administration, Music, and Teacher Education.

North Georgia Technical College
North Georgia Technical College is a public, two-year technical college whose mission is to provide technical education, adult literacy education, continuing education and business and industry training. North Georgia Technical College has three campuses: Clarkesville, Blairsville, and Currahee. The Currahee Campus, located at 8989 Hwy 17 South, Toccoa, is the college's newest campus.
North Georgia Technical College is the oldest technical college in Georgia. Students receive invaluable training in employability skills and hands-on experience with high-tech equipment.
Courses are offered in a wide variety of venues ranging from traditional classroom to those that make use of advancing technology. Many instructors also employ internet delivery for web-assisted, online, and hybrid classes. The Distance Learning Classroom lab broadcasts audio and video from one campus to another, allowing students to cut down on commute times for program classes that are offered only a few times a year. Across the miles, the instructor is able to communicate with students in real-time via high-speed fiber optic connections.

North Georgia Technical College Adult Education Programs
The NGTC program is flexible with many levels of instruction to accommodate the student’s needs. Instruction is available in basic skills, GED ® Test preparation and ASSET and Compass Test preparation.
