If I Were Mayor.......
I would present myself to the city as a strong leader who would be willing to listen and work with the people and for the people to make the city a great place to live in. I would, to the best of my ability, work to improve and enforce all laws and ordinances. I would work hard to improve how the city is operated to cut out the wasteful spending and the misuse of the tax-payers' money, so that property taxes, along with other taxes are decreased instead of increased.
In my opinion, the key to having a great city is to help create jobs for people by getting new businesses and companies to come into the city for growth and prosperity. I would also propose budges for funding to repair roads, bridges, sidewalks, and sewers to keep them clean and well maintained. The buildings in the city that are old and run-down should be renovated or torn down to clean up the look of the city.
I would work with the police department, along with the other city commissioners to make sure laws were enforced to keep the crime rate down in order to keep people safe. I think there should be higher fines for littering, and I would suggest there be signs put up through out the city, saying what the fine would be for littering, to warn people what the consequence of littering would be. I would also force those living in the city to keep their properties clean and free from junk lying all around and fine those who do not abide by the law. I would do everything in my power to make the city a beautiful place to live in.
