City of Toccoa recognizes Sixth Grade Essay Contest Winners
2009 Fifth Place Winner: Grant Dawson
If I were mayor, I would do everything in my power to improve the wonderful town of Toccoa, Georgia. Though magnificent alone, it could use a few small changes. As mayor three major areas come to my concern.
My primary goal is to create a beautiful and exquisite town to please our citizens. To do this we must first throw out all of the litter that clutters our city. Then we should add to the scenic area with more parks and flora, and in time pave as many gravel roads as possible.
My next concern is to help to improve our school system. Children are smarter than ever, so I think that that school should be a bit more challenging. Education is a large priority because the children of today will be the leaders of tomorrow.
My final concern is to encourage more businesses. Toccoa is losing its industry very quickly, especially in this tough economy. I would also encourage many more restaurants to move to this wonderful residence.
Toccoa has many attractive features including many of the parks and scenery. With these few changes Toccoa's landscape, education, and industry will grow and thrive in the marvelous city of Toccoa.
