Background: A former bank executive, Terry Carter is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Toccoa-based Georgia-Carolina Radiocasting Companies. He was one of the founding organizers of the small market radio group operator, which formed in 2001. Georgia-Carolina now operates 14 radio stations in the two Carolinas and Georgia. Carter was recently elected to the board of directors for the Georgia Association of Broadcasters. He has served as past President of the Currahee Arts Council.

Education: A native of Toccoa, Carter attended Stephens County High School and Truett McConnell College before completing studies in Finance at Georgia State University. He is also a graduate of the University of Georgia’s Banking School.

Previous Political Experience: Elected to the Toccoa City Commission in 2011, Carter has served many years previously on Toccoa’s Downtown Development Authority and Toccoa Planning Commission. He was also appointed a charter member of the City’s Historic Preservation Commission. Carter serves on the redevelopment committee for the Historic Ritz Theatre, as well.
